Prince William County firefighter Devon Tice carries a cat which was rescued from an apartment after a 2-alarm fire caused extensive damage to an apartment building in Woodbridge, Va on 17 Feb. No one was injured in the fire but the building is uninhabitable and the residents of at least 8 apartments were displaced. The cat was reunited with its owner.

For the moment they have the happiest of relationships, but this ginger tomcat will have to watch his step when his adoptive daughter gows up into a 300lb lioness. Safina the lion cub was rejected by her parents hours after she was born at Linton Zoo in Cambridgeshire, England, but she has been tenderly cared for since by the zoo owner's cat, Arnie. As soon as Safina was brought into the family's home near the zoon in Cambridgeshire to be hand-reared, Arnie began to look after her.
